Practice article in the Journal Foot & Ankle Orthopaedics (Issue 2 / 2026)
Taping techniques following minimally invasive forefoot surgery

A recent article on elastic taping of the toes following percutaneous forefoot surgery has been published in the Journal Foot & Ankle Orthopaedics. The publication was co-authored by Dr. Toepfer, a Key Opinion Leader in the field of forefoot surgery.
The article presents several taping techniques used to stabilize the corrected position of the toes after minimally invasive forefoot procedures. The aim is to maintain the surgical correction, manage postoperative swelling and support the healing process. Step by step, the authors demonstrate how elastic tapes are applied and what should be considered in everyday clinical practice.
MECRON ReadyDressment Strips are used in the article as an example of pre-cut elastic taping solutions. The strips allow for quick and standardized application and can support efficient postoperative taping in both clinical and outpatient settings.
The contribution is designed as a practical “Technical Tip” and is intended for surgeons and healthcare professionals involved in modern postoperative forefoot care.
