Body Armor® Heel Reliever | Heel Protector

With the new Body Armor® Heel Reliever Heel Protector, a new original DARCO product is launched onto the market. Suitable for therapy and individually adaptable, the new device is an elementary building block in the comprehensive DARCO diabetes and wound care concept. An all-rounder for the prevention and healing of heel pressure ulcers as well as diabetic foot syndrome and decubitus The Body Armor® Heel Reliever was specially developed for supine patients and is characterised by very easy handling and a variable concept with convincing features.

The heel protector is available in a universal size and, thanks to the special “flexible flap design” with an extended shin wing, can care for both strong and narrow calves (calf circumference of 25.0 – 54.0 cm) equally well. The extra-long calf pad shifts pressure from the heel and prevents hyperextension of the knee. Due to the particularly high foot section, even large feet can be fully covered and a drop foot can be counteracted. The additional foam pad is customisable and can be individually adapted to many indications. The positioning wedge, which is also included in the scope of delivery, can be used to prevent hip rotation. In addition, the Body Armor® Heel Reliever has a heel opening that allows the heel to “float” freely and, in addition to visually control of correct off-loading device, also serves to provide air circulation.

Depending on indication and skin type, a convoluted and a smooth foam version are available to choose from. Special comfort is provided by the soft rounded edges and corners as well as the smooth underside, which allows the leg to slide on the sheet. The label attached to the product is handy in everyday medical use. Patient data can be noted on it, and the instructions for use easily retrieved via QR code. Cleaning the heel protector is easy. It can be machine-washed at 60°C in the laundry bag provided and can thus be used several times on one patient.

The Body Armor® Heel Reliever can be worn on the right as well as on the left and is available in a universal size (up to shoe size 47).
